Kids Dance Program 2024/2025

Overview:

Star Dance Centre’s Kids Dance program will offer students multiple dance styles to choose from. Providing a full year program in each individual style, it allows students to learn the fundamental skills, techniques and performance styling of the chosen dance genre from award-winning instructors. 

Students will have the chance to participate in 2 Annual Showcases (Christmas & end of year) and multiple other performance opportunities around the GTA!! We believe every child is a star waiting to shine. Our program is crafted to inspire creativity, boost confidence, and offer a thrilling way for kids to stay active and healthy.The program offers a diverse range of dance styles, including ballet, hip-hop, jazz, acro etc., tailored to different age groups. Our experienced and enthusiastic instructors will ensure a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for all participants.Each style’s program structure is thoughtfully tailored to suit different age groups, ensuring that every child can explore and excel in their chosen genre.

Age Groups & Dance Styles:

1. Ages 2-4: Pre-Dance/ Star Tots: A joyful introduction to dance through movement and rhythm
2. Ages 4-6: Star Mini – Watch them groove and twirl in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip hop moves
3. Ages 7-10: Star Junior  – Dance like never before in Ballet/Jazz, Hip hop, Kpop, and Latin!
4. Ages 11-14: Star Youth  – Unleash the inner star with Hip Hop, Jazz, Kpop, and Latin dances for the coolest kids on the block!

CLASS RATES (HST will be added to all the rates below)

EARLY BIRD Registration by Aug 31st, 2024 (NOT INCLUDING EXTRA FEES)*: 

3 installments of $325+HST or a ONE time full payment ($70 discount applied) $905.00+HST

Registration ON OR AFTER Sept 1st, 2024 (NOT INCLUDING EXTRA FEES)*:

3 installments of $350+HST or a ONE time full payment ($70 discount applied) $975.00+HST

**Full year payments must be made in full on the same date as registration**

KEY DATES

 First installment is due at the time of registration or before and must include the additional $130 Fee (Registration Fee + Media Fee +  Costume Deposit Fee)  on top of the Term/Year Fee

Please note: Registration & Media Fees are to be paid only once for each student. 

Costume Fees apply to each class/style taken ( For example, a student is taking Junior K-pop and is on the competitive K-pop team – the student must pay 2 costume fees)

*EXTRA FEES  not included : In-Class Dance Uniform and/or shoes, showcase  tickets, hair/makeup for the show, registration, media or costume fees

*This is the last day to enroll in order to be able to perform at the Dance on Yonge Festival. For students interested in joining after this date we can offer private training in order to help catch up with the choreography

REGISTRATION FEE: Upon registration, a non-refundable registration fee ($25 plus HST) per student will be applied. If you are enrolling in multiple styles for the same student you will only pay the registration fee once.

MEDIA FEES: ($25 plus HST per student) If you are enrolling in multiple styles for the same student you will only pay the media fee once.

COSTUME FEES: $80 costume deposit per style taken is also due at the time of registration. 

A costume balance for the remainder costume cost will be invoiced upon costume pick up closer to each showcase. We will aim to adhere to the costume budget, however the final  costume prices can range in value from $70 to $110 and are non-refundable.

For students enrolled in multiple styles, a costume deposit is only required for the first style and is not required for the additional styles at the time of registration. The remainder or full costume fees for the additional style will be notified to the parents and the payment will be required to be made in full at the time of the costume fittings.

For tuition payments paid in 3 installments, the first installment and other mentioned applicable fees will be required to be paid upon registration. At the time of registration a credit card will be required to be added to the student’s account. Remaining term installment fees for Term 2 & 3 will automatically be charged to the card on file on the payment due dates stated below.  

DISCOUNTS

• Each additional class enrolled will receive an extra 10% discount for the same student (not applicable to registration, media or costume fee)

• Each additional sibling added to a program will receive an extra 5% discount on the total program fee (not applicable to registration, media or costume fee)

In-class Uniform: Students may be required to wear a set uniform (such as latin shoes or ballet slippers) as per the class which they are enrolled in. Information about uniforms, fees and how to purchase will be provided to parents after registration. (Uniform fees not included in registration or tuition fees)

Late Registration Policy: Students who register after the start of the season, or after the start of an installment term will be prorated at a rate equal to the number of classes missed since the start of the term. Showcase costume fees will be calculated and added at the time of registration.

For the first Term, we will be accepting students until Nov 1st, 2024. For the second/third term (after April 1st 2025), late registrants may not be eligible for the year-end Showcase performance. Please inquire with an administrator if you are interested in the showcase and please be mindful that we may not be able to accommodate late registrants in the showcase. Thank you for understanding.

Redeeming Existing Credit: If you have an existing credit with us, and would like to redeem it during registration. Contact info@stardancecentre.com for assistance.

Registration Period: Upon registration, you are committing to your dance classes for the full school year from September until the last day of classes in June. Payment for the school-year is made in full or in 3 installments (Term 1 / Term 2 / Term 3), For the school-year season, you will be re-enrolled automatically each  Term and charges to your credit card will be applied on the first day of each installment term as listed in your Star Dance Centre Program Registration (Sept 9th (or collected at the time of registration), December 15th, April 15th). Unless you officially withdraw by emailing us a minimum of 14 days prior to the next term fee due date. Refunds will NOT be provided in the event of late withdrawals.

Withdrawal: 

Upon registration, you are committing to your dance classes for the full school year from September until the last day at recital in June. Charges to credit cards will automatically be charged unless an official withdrawal is made. 

All withdrawals must be submitted a minimum of 14 days before the next term fee due date. via email to info@stardancecentre.com . 

Repeated absences do not confirm that a student has withdrawn. Your notice of withdrawal email will determine the official withdrawal date. There is no penalty for withdrawal before the season start date – before September 10th, 2024 tuition will be refunded in full only in this case. 

There is no penalty to withdraw if you give us proper notice at the end of an installment term ONLY IF a notice of withdrawal email is received 14 days before the end of the term date. For withdrawals after the start of an installment term, only a studio credit will be offered less a $25 withdrawal fee. 

No Refunds: Once the term has commenced or the yearly enrollment has taken place, no refunds will be provided for missed classes, early withdrawals, or program cancellations.

• No refunds for withdrawals after the start of the season, credit only. Credit to be determined by the administration.
• No refunds or credits with 4 or fewer classes remaining in the term. 
• Star Dance Centre credits are not available for refund at a later date. 

Late Payment Policies: Payment is required online or in-studio to complete registration. The first installment or full year payment is to be made in full upon registration. 

• Future payments will be automatically charged to your credit card on file. A credit card will need to be provided to be added on file at the time of registration.
• Should you wish to withdraw, you must contact us to withdraw 14 days minimum before the next payment due date. 
• The studio will administer a $25 charge to all late payments and postponed/held tuition payments for whatever reason. Payments not submitted by or before the end of day of the Term Fee due date will result in a late fee charge.
• You are subject to an additional 3% late charge if not received within 14 days from the payment due date. After 30 days from the payment due date, another 3% will be charged. After 45 days, Star Dance Centre reserves the right to prohibit students with outstanding fees from attending classes until full payment is received. Course of action may be taken including 3rd party collections and termination of enrolment.  

NSF Cheques: NSF cheque charge is $35.

Bounced Credit Cards: If automatic term payments on credit cards registered on the account do not work at the time payment is due there will be a late fee charge.

Class Holidays:

There will be no classes on Thanksgiving  Monday, Family Day Monday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day Monday. The tuition fees do not cover these holidays.

The studio is closed for two weeks during Winter Break as well as the week of March Break. Tuition does not cover these closures. 

Missed Classes: Upon registering for dance classes with us, please note that make-up classes will not be allowed without formal notice of which class and when they are made up. We will try our best to accommodate according to class availability. This includes family holidays booked beyond the holidays observed by Star Dance Centre and sick days. We do not offer refunds or credits for missed classes, including canceled classes due to inclement weather or extraordinary circumstances beyond our control. We do understand that unexpected events occur.  We allow one make-up lesson per term, per dancer. You must email info@stardancecentre.com and state the date and class of your missed lesson before the class is to take place, and an administrator will email you available make-up lessons of equal or lower level and in the same dance form. Upon your confirmation, your make-up lesson will be scheduled.

Star Dance Centre Cancellation: If a teacher is unexpectedly ill and a suitable substitute could not be found in time, a credit will be given for that class at the current amount determined by Star Dance Centre. Group classes where 1 or 2 students are in attendance may be shortened or canceled at the schools discretion. Star Dance Centre reserves the right to cancel any class with a low enrolment of fewer than 4 students. Credit will be given for that class at the current amount determined by Star Dance Centre.

Mandated Closure: In the event of a government mandated forced closure (ie. Covid-19), in-person classes will be migrated online until the end of the term. For subsequent terms, students can choose to continue online or request a withdrawal without penalty. Withdrawal policies apply.
